This site is a hub for all of the information, reviews and support for the entire Henry Vacuum range. Whether you are looking for a detailed review of the Henry Vacuum, or want to know where the cheapest current price can be found, we want to make your life easier by providing all of the information in one place.

The Numatic Henry range of vacuum cleaners have maintained their position at the very top of the popularity rankings for years, amongst the British public. However, little is known about the differences between the various models, other than their appearance. This is where we come in, with detailed reviews of each model, to help you make an informed decision.

Our History

It all started back in 2013, when our founder James Cook was interested in purchasing a new vacuum cleaner from the Numatic range but was totally confused regarding which model was most suitable for his small apartment. After a great deal of searching online, he eventually found the information that he needed and settled upon the Henry. However, during this process, it occurred to him that there was no website that explained the differences between these models. Not long after, he decided to create The Henry Range.

What we do

Our mission is to help you find the best model from the Numatic vacuum cleaner range that best suits your requirements. To do this, we have reviewed each of the machines in the Henry range, including the Henry itself, Hetty, George, James, Harry and Charles. Each product review delves into the features of each machine, including performance, design and everyday usability. On top of this, we provide an easy-to-read rating system that allows you to quickly compare each model, if you want to make a quick comparison.

How We Test

Every review on this site starts with a machine being unboxed and personally reviewed by us in our own home.

Here’s what we look for when we test:

• We test each machine on the same surfaces, thick or thin carpet, hardwood, and tile. We use the same controlled mix of debris, and see how many strokes it takes to clear a test patch, and whether the machine struggles near skirting boards, under furniture, or in corners.
• We test every attachment the machine ships with: the combi floor tool, crevice tool, upholstery brush, dusting brush, and any model-specific extras like the AiroBrush or EcoBrush. We rate each one on how well it actually performs the job it’s designed for, not just whether it’s included.
• We time how long assembly takes, test how easy the machine is to push and pull across different surfaces, and check how awkward it is to carry up stairs or fit into tight storage spaces. A powerful vacuum that’s a chore to use won’t get used, so usability matters.
• We note how loud each machine is in regular use and whether it’s quiet enough to run while someone’s watching TV in the next room.
• Because many buyers use their Henry for car interiors, we test every machine on car mats, seats, boots, and sofa cushions, checking cable reach, attachment effectiveness, and whether the suction copes with ground-in dirt.
• For pet owners, we test specifically on pet hair in carpet and see how well it performs. We also test whether the results justify the premium.

About James Cook

James Cook is the owner and editor of The Henry Range. Based in Bristol in the South West of England, he brings a wealth of experience in the cleaning sector, having written for major brands including simplemost.com, thewhoot.com and helping.co.uk.

Over the last 6 years, James has spent a great deal of time criticaly reviewing all of the machines in the Numatic Henry range. This has given him a unique insight into the benefits of each model, which has developed from real-world use of the Henry, Hetty, James, Charles, George and Harry. So you can rest assured that the advice you read on this site is the result of hands-on testing by James.

Away from vacuum cleaners, James has a degree from the University of Kent and now lives with his family in Bristol, in the South West of the country.
